Slack
Receive personal approval notifications in your connected Slack workspace.
Slack notifications arrive as direct messages from withHuman. Your organization connects a workspace through the Slack integration, and your personal Slack link identifies which account receives your messages.
Account linking
withHuman finds your Slack account using your confirmed email addresses. If Slack uses a different address from your withHuman account, that address needs to be added and confirmed as an email channel.
The Channels list shows Linked when your Slack account is ready. If no matching account is found, check the email address you use in the connected workspace. If the workspace is not connected, someone who manages integrations needs to connect it first.
The link belongs to this organization. A Slack account connected in one organization is not a notification channel for another.
Rules and messages
The default Interrupts rules use Slack immediately, followed by account email after five minutes. Standard requests use email by default. Saved notification rules can choose different timing or omit Slack.
Messages show the tool, agent and expiry, with Open in withHuman linking to the request. Request arguments stay in withHuman. Decisions are made in the app; Slack replies do not approve or deny requests.
Escalation paths reach you through these personal DMs when your notification rules select Slack.
Delivery and changes
For a missing DM, check your link and the rules for the request's urgency. Slack's own notification preferences can also silence its alerts.
Removing Slack from your rules changes how new requests reach you. It does not disconnect the workspace or cancel Slack messages already scheduled. See Changes and removal for when rule edits take effect.
Disconnection
Unavailable means your Slack channel cannot currently receive notifications. If the workspace has disconnected, ask an administrator to reconnect it in Integrations.
Your rules are kept. Other channels continue, and withHuman temporarily uses your account email if Slack was your only way to be notified before a request expires. See Disconnected Slack for notification timing and pending requests.
After reconnection, Linked means your saved Slack rules can receive messages again. If your channel is still Unavailable, check your Slack email address and link your account again. You do not need to recreate your rules.
