Mac app

Review requests and get notifications on your Mac.

Updated Nov 4, 2026

The withHuman app for Mac shows your review queue in its own window. It notifies you about requests while the window is closed.

Installation and sign-in

Download withHuman for Mac, open the file and drag withHuman to Applications. The app runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Sign in with the same account you use on the web. Google, GitHub and single sign-on open your browser and return you to the app.

Notifications

Allow notifications when macOS asks. Click a notification to open the request. Request arguments stay out of notifications.

The app notifies you about requests sent to you, so your notification rules set when they appear. The Dock icon shows how many of those requests are pending.

Notifications arrive only while the app is running. Closing the window keeps it running, and quitting stops notifications. To start the app with your Mac, choose withHuman > Open at Login.

Updates

The app updates itself. When an update is ready, click the notification or choose withHuman > Restart to Update. Otherwise it installs the next time you quit.

Troubleshooting

  • No notifications: Check that withHuman is allowed in System Settings > Notifications and that a Focus mode isn't silencing it. Then check the app is running.
  • A page opened in your browser: Pages outside withHuman, such as a Slack install or checkout, open in your browser. When you finish there, choose View > Reload in the app.
  • Self-hosted server: Quit the app, then start it with your server's address:
bash
open --env WITHHUMAN_DESKTOP_ORIGIN=https://withhuman.example.com -a withHuman

Removing the app

Quit withHuman, then drag it from Applications to the Trash.
